On June 21, 2024, 24-year-old Jaterius Easley was fatally shot in Meridian, Mississippi. The incident occurred in the 500 block of 53rd Avenue, where officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Easley, who was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. Three additional victims sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital by private vehicle.
