At approximately 10:15 p.m., Poole was on Claiborne Jones Road when he became the target of a drive-by shooting. The sudden eruption of gunfire shattered the night's quiet, leaving Poole with fatal wounds.
Wayne County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene where they found Poole suffering from the gunshot injuries.
