On October 8, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., 44-year-old Eddie Poole Jr. was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting on Claiborne Jones Road in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Upon arrival, Wayne County Sheriff's deputies found Poole suffering from gunshot wounds; he was transported to Wayne General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
