In the early days of the new year, a family argument on Detroit's east side escalated into a tragic and fatal encounter, claiming the life of 26-year-old Daniel Berry on January 2, 2023. The dispute, which turned violent, also resulted in the death of another of Berry's cousins, 17-year-old Jamil Thornton.

The young men were shot and killed by a cousin who, following the double murder, took his own life. The gunman was identified as the perpetrator of the killings of his two cousins. The ...
