On July 23, 2023, at approximately 2:15 a.m., 32-year-old Desmond Nelson was fatally shot at a BP gas station located in the 15440 block of West McNichols Road in Detroit, Michigan. Upon arrival, Detroit police officers found Nelson lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
