On July 30, 2023, Jose Manuel De Jesus Flores, a 22-year-old resident of Lansing, Michigan, was fatally shot in a violent incident that shocked the local community. The shooting occurred on the 700 block of East Kalamazoo Street, where police discovered Flores suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
