In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Detroit, an argument on Burt Road escalated into a burst of violence that would leave two people dead and another critically injured. On that day, August 12, 2023, Kevin Mundy Jr., a 39-year-old Black or African American male and devoted father of four, lost his life. The shooting, which took place on the city's west side, cut short the life of a man remembered by his family as a loving person.
