On August 13, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 20-year-old Jamal Gibson and 21-year-old K'Von Thompson-Doze were fatally shot in an alleyway in the 5080 block of Fredro Street in Detroit, Michigan. An altercation escalated, leading to the shooting of both men. Gibson was privately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on August 16, 2023.
