In a tragic turn of events stemming from a domestic dispute, Willie Grant Jr., a 47-year-old male, lost his life in Detroit. On the evening of June 24, 2022, at approximately 8:03 p.m., Detroit police responded to a call reporting a shooting at a residence on Bringard Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Grant lying face down on the front lawn with a gunshot wound to his back.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and transported Grant to a local hospital,
where he was pronounced deceased. The incident allegedly began as a verbal altercation between Grant and his live-in girlfriend, Antoinette Denise Moore, who was 51 years old at the time. The argument escalated, tragically culminating in Moore allegedly producing a shotgun and fatally shooting Grant.
Following an investigation by the Detroit Police Department, Antoinette Denise Moore was arrested later that same day in connection with the shooting. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office subsequently charged Moore with one count of Premeditated First-Degree Murder, one count of Tampering with Evidence, and one count of Felony Firearm. She was arraigned in 36th District Court and given a $1,000,000 cash/surety bond. A Probable Cause Conference was scheduled for July 11, 2022, and a Preliminary Examination was set for July 18, 2022.
