On a Sunday afternoon in May, during the vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Southwest Detroit, tragedy unfolded inside a house believed to be vacant on 33rd Street. It was there that 41-year-old Hollie Stoops of Lincoln Park and another woman, 28-year-old May Hernandez of Monroe, were found shot to death on May 5, 2024.
