On March 7, 1982, Carol E. Roketa was killed in Detroit, Michigan, a shooting that turned a private home into a crime scene and left a police veteran’s life abruptly ended. She was a 38-year-old woman, and investigators said she was shot three times with her own service revolver and pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.
