On February 14, 2025, tragedy struck on Detroit’s west side when 21-year-old African American woman LaTriece Galloway was fatally shot inside a residence on Coyle Street near Fenkell Avenue. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 12:32 a.m. and discovered Galloway and 40-year-old Edward Clark in the basement of the home, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
