In the summer of 2024, the city of Flint, Michigan, was struck by a wave of youth violence that claimed the life of 16-year-old Brandon Josiah Ross. A Black/African American male, Brandon was remembered for his kind and leading spirit. He was a student at Beecher High School and a member of the Boys & Girls Club, where his infectious smile and willingness to help left a lasting impression on those he encountered.
