Corey Jomechee Gray, a 20-year-old Black male, was a young man with a passion for life, known for his love of cars, motorcycles, and travel. An honor student, he was cherished by his friends and family. His life was tragically cut short on April 3, 2022, when he was fatally shot outside a market in Flint, Michigan.
The investigation into his death led to the arrests of two suspects, Dezmond Malik Williams and Rory Amere-Deion Gillespie.
Both men were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting of Corey Gray. Following their arrests, the court decided that Williams and Gillespie would be tried together for the crime.
Rory Gillespie chose to waive his right to a preliminary examination, and his case was subsequently moved to the circuit court for trial. The legal proceedings for both men in the death of Corey Gray were documented as ongoing.
