On July 7, 2024, 20-year-old Shanae' "Nae Nae" Fletcher was fatally shot during a mass shooting at an unauthorized block party on Detroit's east side. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Rossini Drive and Reno Street, where a large crowd had gathered. Multiple shooters fired over 100 rounds into the crowd, resulting in 21 people being shot.
