Bionka Lyons, aged 21, was killed on August 24, 2016, in Detroit, Michigan. Bionka, who was seven months pregnant, was shot multiple times just after arriving at her parents' home on Detroit's west side. She was attacked as she got out of her car in the driveway. Both Bionka and her unborn child did not survive the incident. She was excitedly awaiting the birth of her baby boy, making the violent act particularly devastating for her family and the community.
