In the quiet, wooded area off of Finns Lane in Lanham, Maryland, a somber discovery was made on the morning of January 25, 2023. The body of Steven Prescott Sollers, a 30-year-old Black male, was found by officers who were responding to a welfare check. He had been fatally shot, and at the time of his discovery, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sollers was known to have no fixed address.
