On a summer night in June 1983, the life of 31-year-old Carlton Xavier Fletcher, a male Prince George's County Police Officer, was tragically cut short in a brutal ambush. Fletcher, a husband and father, was working off-duty as a security guard at a Goddard Minimart in Greenbelt, Maryland. Just before midnight, he was preparing to escort a store employee, Minh Huong Phamdo, to the bank to deposit the day's earnings.
