On April 8, 2023, at approximately 11:10 PM, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 2600 block of Kent Village Drive in Landover, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 51-year-old Michael Westpoint of Washington, DC, suffering from gunshot wounds outside a building. Despite efforts to save him, Westpoint was pronounced dead at the scene.
