When Prince George's County police officers arrived at the 7700 block of Penbrook Place shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday, July 31st, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a local hospital for medical attention.
One of the victims, a 33-year-old man from Washington, D.C., identified as Sean Hodge, succumbed
to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The second man, who has not been publicly identified, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting marked another tragic incident of gun violence in the area, leaving a community in mourning and a family grieving the loss of a loved one.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, investigators from the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit began the arduous task of piecing together the events of that fatal night.
