On a Friday evening in November 2022, the life of 28-year-old Jose Arroyo Salazar, a male resident of Hyattsville, Maryland, was tragically cut short. At approximately 10:00 p.m. on November 11th, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Madison Street in the Chillum area after receiving a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Arroyo Salazar outside, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite any efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the incident, Mr. Arroyo Salazar was working as a driver for a contractor of FedEx. In the immediate aftermath, a GoFundMe campaign was established by his employers to offer financial support to his grieving family.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit promptly took charge of the investigation. In the days following the shooting, authorities announced that they were actively working to identify the suspect or suspects involved and to determine a motive for the killing. A reward of up to $25,000 was offered for any information that would lead to an arrest and indictment in the case. As of the latest available reports, the investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests or suspects have been publicly announced.
