In the pre-dawn hours of April 30, 2023, the quiet of a District Heights, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police responded to the 7800 block of Berry Place at approximately 3:45 a.m., they discovered a man lying outside with a gunshot wound. The man, identified as 33-year-old Brian Ray Campbell of Hyattsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation into Campbell's
death. At this time, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The motive for the homicide remains under investigation.
In an effort to gather more information, the police have offered a reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.
