On May 5, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Essex, Maryland, resulting in the death of 29-year-old Shalia Hendrix. Hendrix was shot and killed while driving on Route 702 in Essex. The Baltimore County Police Department launched a homicide investigation following the incident.
