In the late hours of a Sunday evening in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, the life of 20-year-old Jedidiah Kehiku Ogboi-Gibson was tragically cut short. On May 14, 2023, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Montgomery County Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Fenwick Lane. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ogboi-Gibson in a parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Rescue, Jedidiah Kehiku Ogboi-Gibson, a male of Nigerian descent, was pronounced dead at the scene. The police investigation that followed revealed that the shooting had been widespread enough to strike several unoccupied vehicles in the vicinity, painting a chaotic picture of the final moments of the young man's life.
