Marcus Ahmed Jordan, a 21-year-old man, was in the White Oak area of Silver Spring, Maryland, on the night of May 11, 2020, staying with a relative in an apartment on February Circle. Late that evening, what was supposed to be a visit ended in violence inside the home, after the two became locked in a physical altercation that escalated beyond anything either could take back.
At about 10:05 p.m., emergency dispatchers received a 911 call from the relative, a 26-year-old male, reporting a shooting inside his apartment in the 11500 block of February Circle. Responding officers kept the caller on the line and directed him to come outside; when he emerged, police saw he had multiple visible injuries. Inside the apartment, officers found Jordan dead from an apparent gunshot wound, and detectives determined the fatal shot was fired during the fight between the two men.
The injured caller was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
