In the quiet town of Elkton, Maryland, a residence on Farah Drive became the scene of a fatal encounter on May 21, 2023. Inside the home, a heated argument between two housemates escalated with irreversible consequences. Michael Richard Bramowski, a 41-year-old white male, was shot during the dispute. First responders arrived at the scene around 12:30 PM to find him unresponsive in the front yard, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite any efforts to render aid, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The subsequent investigation into the shooting quickly identified the alleged perpetrator. James Michael Zack, a 57-year-old man who also resided at the address, had himself called 911 to report that he had shot someone inside their shared home following an argument. The Cecil County Sheriff's Office took Zack into custody and conducted a search of the residence, where they located a handgun and shell casings, believed to be connected to the incident.
Following his arrest, James Michael Zack was charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was committed to the Cecil County Sheriff's Office and held without bond. The investigation concluded that the tragic death of Michael Bramowski was the result of a domestic dispute that turned violent.
