On August 26, 2023, at approximately 11:02 a.m., Baltimore Police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1000 block of Ashburton Street in West Baltimore. Upon arrival, they discovered 61-year-old Anthony El-Shabazz suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, El-Shabazz was pronounced dead at the scene.
