On a late Friday afternoon in Baltimore, the life of Larry Michael Kirkland, a 31-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On September 22, 2023, at approximately 3:48 p.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the 2800 block of Saint Lo Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Kirkland suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported Kirkland to a nearby hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The case was immediately handed over to homicide detectives who began their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
The Baltimore Police Department has since assumed control of the ongoing investigation.
