Olamide Olakanye, an 18-year-old from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, tragically lost his life on January 9, 2024. He was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his vehicle around 11:20 p.m. in the 5300 block of Sheriff Road, Capitol Heights. Authorities believe that Olakanye was shot earlier in the evening at the 1200 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive and attempted to drive himself to safety before crashing into a wooded area.
