In the winter of 2021, a life was tragically cut short in a Capitol Heights, Maryland apartment. On the afternoon of December 7th, police responded to a call for a shooting in the 6600 block of Ronald Road. Inside, they discovered 42-year-old Francis Bwaku, a male resident of Capitol Heights, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the death of Francis Bwaku quickly led to a suspect.
Detectives determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence, but rather the result of a dispute. They identified 46-year-old Kerrick Daniels, a man from the District, as the individual responsible. It is believed that Daniels and Bwaku were acquaintances, and an argument between them escalated to the fatal shooting.
Following the investigation, Kerrick Daniels was arrested and charged with the murder of Francis Bwaku. He was taken into custody and held at the county jail without bond, awaiting legal proceedings for his alleged role in the violent death that unfolded inside the apartment that December afternoon. The investigation was reported as ongoing following the initial arrest.
