In the early morning hours of February 3, 2024, the quiet community of Brandywine, Maryland, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of 69-year-old George Rickey Savoy. A male resident of the area, Savoy was found inside a home on Old Indian Head Road suffering from a gunshot wound. The unfortunate discovery was made by Prince George's County police officers who had been dispatched to the residence at approximately 2:15 a.m. following a report of a shooting.
Despite the prompt response from law enforcement, Savoy was pronounced dead at the scene.
