On April 28, 2024, 18-year-old Mauricio Guzman-Leon was shot during a house party in Manchester, Maryland. He succumbed to his injuries on May 4, 2024.
Following the incident, Jose A. Manchame, a 42-year-old Guatemalan national, was arrested and charged in connection with Guzman-Leon's death. On May 16, 2024, a Carroll County grand jury indicted Manchame on one count of second-degree murder and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
