On May 19, 2024, John Phipps, a 26-year-old resident of Waldorf, Maryland, was tragically killed during an illegal car meet in District Heights. The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. at a shopping center on Marlboro Pike, where a chaotic scene unfolded involving gunfire and reckless driving.
