On a Tuesday evening in June, the sense of security in a Suitland, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by gunfire. On June 18, 2024, at approximately 9:40 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 5600 block of Regency Park Court. Upon arrival, they discovered a young man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Sean Bethea, a male resident of Washington, D.C. Despite the efforts of first responders, Mr.
Bethea was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were quickly called in to begin their investigation into the fatal shooting.
