Mr. Ronald Anthony Carroll Jr., a 46-year-old male, was fatally shot in Baltimore, Maryland. In the early hours of August 22, 2024, at approximately 12:21 a.m., Baltimore Police Department's Eastern District patrol officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of East North Avenue following a Shot Spotter alert. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Carroll suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene and transported Mr.
Carroll to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident was subsequently classified as a homicide, prompting an investigation by homicide detectives.
Following an investigation into the fatal shooting, authorities identified a suspect. On a Monday, a 16-year-old male from Baltimore was taken into custody in connection with the death of Ronald Carroll. The teenage suspect has been charged with first-degree murder. The shooting that led to Mr. Carroll's death occurred on August 18, 2024, on East North Avenue.
