On October 2, 2024, at approximately 9:49 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2500 block of McHenry Street, located in the Shipley Hill neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Tavin Cooper suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Cooper was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
