In the early morning hours of Friday, June 7, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace on Williamson Street in Madison, Wisconsin, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Alwayne S. Jones Jr., a 27-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot around 1:30 a.m. in what law enforcement has described as a targeted incident. The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office later identified Jones as the victim of the shooting that unfolded on the 1300 block of the street.
