On New Year's Day of 2023, a promising life was cut short in Oklahoma City. Daniel Howard, a 22-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the early morning hours outside the Sunset Patio Lounge. A talented football player, Howard was a graduate of Millwood High School, where he had been a standout running back on two state championship teams.
