In the winter of 2023, the life of 17-year-old Trenton Knight Jr. was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City. On the night of January 9th, police were called to a residence on NW 107th Street around 11:00 p.m. following a report of a shooting. Inside, they discovered the young man, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. At the time of the incident, it was reported that several other teenagers were present in the home.
Investigators began to piece together the events of that evening, and
their work quickly led them to a person of interest. Two days after the shooting, on January 11th, authorities made an arrest in connection with Trenton's death. Prince Ordu, who was 18 years old at the time, was taken into custody and booked on a complaint of second-degree murder. It was reported that Ordu and Knight were acquainted with each other.
While the investigation was ongoing, authorities initially stated that it was unclear whether the shooting was an intentional act. The case was noted as the third homicide in Oklahoma City for that year. Trenton, born on August 4, 2005, was remembered as a loving and courageous individual whose smile could brighten any room.
