In the predawn hours of August 2, 2014, Cameron Polk, a 21-year-old Black male, was at a friend’s residence in northwest Oklahoma City, immersed in his passion for music. An aspiring rap artist, he was inside the house recording when a disturbance outside on NW 21st Terrace drew his attention. He went to the front door to see what was happening.
