A member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, the 41-year-old man found himself in dire need of help in the 500 block of Couch Drive. It was there that he managed to flag down a police officer, suffering from a gunshot wound that would ultimately prove fatal. After alerting the officer, Eteeyan collapsed and lost consciousness.
He was quickly transported to OU Medical Center for emergency treatment, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
