In the late afternoon of Saturday, August 9, 2025, the life of 28-year-old Davonta Mims, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City. The incident, which marked the city's 45th homicide of the year, unfolded at an apartment complex located in the 600 block of North Stonewall Avenue, just east of the downtown area. At approximately 4:05 p.m., police were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting.
