In the early morning hours of January 26, 2024, a tragic event unfolded within the desolate walls of an abandoned school building in northwest Oklahoma City. Inside, 35-year-old Danielle Mahaffey, a white male, was found shot. When police responded to a disturbance call at the location on Northwest 10th Street around 1:03 AM, they discovered a grim scene.
Mahaffey had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not the only victim of the violence that transpired in the derelict building. Alongside him, another individual, 29-year-old Joshua Williams, was found with critical gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported Williams to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. However, his injuries proved too severe, and he succumbed to them days later, marking the second fatality of the incident.
The investigation into the double homicide was launched immediately by the Oklahoma City Police Department.
