On the afternoon of October 20, 2024, in Anchorage's Spenard neighborhood, police were called to the 3700 block of McCain Loop for an unconscious person. Officers arrived around 1:40 p.m. and found a Pacific Islander, 36-year-old male, later identified as Joseph Siufanua, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
