In the early hours of June 22, 2024, Anchorage police officers on patrol near East 40th Avenue and Fairbanks Street reported hearing gunshots. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered two adult male victims. One individual had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
