Just after bar break on June 1, 2024, downtown Anchorage was still shaking off the night when gunshots cracked through the 700 block of West 4th Avenue. Officers on patrol heard the shots and rushed toward the Pioneer Bar, where they found 25-year-old Hispanic, Diego Joe, male, already dead in an alcove behind the building.
