On July 31, 2016, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Anchorage Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of 4th Avenue and Newell Street in Anchorage, Alaska. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Xeryus Trinidadd Naron Tate Pittman, known as "Iggy," deceased on the street from gunshot wounds. The initial investigation suggested that the shooting was not a random act.
