On December 8, 2015, Anchorage police responded to a shooting at an apartment on the 3200 block of East 41st Avenue shortly before 2:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they found 60-year-old Michael Irby Pinkston with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased approximately 30 minutes later.
