On April 12, 2018, 21-year-old Sosaia Finau Jr. was fatally shot in an apartment on Mountain View Drive in Anchorage, Alaska. The incident occurred after Mickee Bobby Marcel Thompson and Robert Smith arrived uninvited at the residence of Thompson's former girlfriend, who had begun a relationship with Finau. Following an initial departure, Thompson and Smith returned to retrieve Thompson's son.
