On March 26, 2024, 35-year-old Tyrann Burks Williams was found deceased near West Park Avenue and North Hickory Street in McAlester, Oklahoma, following reports of possible gunshots. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and McAlester Police Department initiated a homicide investigation. Subsequently, 19-year-old Johnathon Riggins was arrested and booked into the Pittsburg County Jail on a first-degree murder charge in connection with Williams' death.
