On October 23, 2024, at approximately 12:06 a.m., Tulsa police officers responded to reports of an unresponsive individual near a bus stop at East 15th Street and South Peoria Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Tasha Marie Shepard with a fatal gunshot wound to the back of her head. A passerby on a bicycle had found Shepard and alerted nearby restaurant employees, who then contacted authorities.
